• Provided bench support for strain engineering: media prep, mini-preps, restriction digests, and selective plating under aseptic conditions.
• Gained hands-on exposure to ELISA, electroporation, western blotting, and small bioreactor runs; familiar with gene-gun workflows through observation and setup assistance.
• Became familiar with lab automation tools and helped translate simple fermentation steps into basic automated scripts.
• Assisted in evaluating and documenting simplified electroporation parameters for DNA uptake; compiled notes and results for team review.
• Participated in protocol reviews, documentation, and peer discussions to advance open-source, low-cost insulin production methods.
